The Papageno system

Maximizing the distance a single crew can treat in all safety.

The system allows a single fire crew to treat hundreds of meters of fire front by distributing water at low flow rates.

The autonomous operating mode allows practitioners to operate from a safe area as no personnel is needed in the danger zone.

The system consists of a hose loop mimicking the wetting pattern of an aerial drop.

Connected to a single pump and reservoir one module can treat 800 meters, with the possibility of adding modules in length, height and depth.

With practitioner safety in mind, the Papageno system has been designed to run autonomously once it has been installed. Practitioners can thus retreat to safe areas once the fire closes in.
RESOURCE-EFFICIENCY​
With water scarcity in mind during high summers the Papageno system has been designed to distribute the critical amount of water. A single fire truck can thus maximize its effect and rely on other trucks carrying out water shuttle services.
Low operating costs
With wide geographical uptake in mind for maximized climate impact, we have designed the Papageno system to come in at low operating costs, allowing as many affected communities to make use of it.

Fire-Proven

A series of deployments has shown how it outperforms state of the art ground tools in containing high intensity fire fronts with flames exceeding eight meters in height.

Academic proof is at the core of our development.

Validated during a series of field tests under the academic guidance of the University of Coimbra, we are starting to deploy our system during controlled burns.
